Delaware Hospice received a $4,000 check from Delaware Amateur Racquetball Association’s President Jeffrey Zegna and sponsor Michael Cardile, Vice President of Cardile Bros. Mushroom Company. The donation represents sponsorship donations and proceeds from the Delaware State Doubles Racquetball Championship which was held January 19-20, 2008, at Kirkwood Fitness & Racquetball Club on Naaman’s Road.
Companies and individuals who also contributed were: Giorgi Mushroom Company, The HDH Group, Inc., Joseph Silvestri & Son, Inc., Leone Pizzini & Son, Inc., Manfredini Enterprises, Inc., Modern Mushroom Sales Co., Phillips Mushroom Farms, Ravi & Rajani Dattani, Sunny Dell Foods, Inc., Temple-Inland, and To-Jo Mushrooms, Inc.
The generous contribution will be directed to Delaware Hospice’s New HopeProgram, which supports children and teenagers who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
Sponsor and competitor Michael Cardile said, “We believe racquetball is a fun sport which promotes a high level of physical activity and we hope to keep racquetball popular through such tournaments, especially with young folks.”
New Hope is a support program for children offered by Delaware Hospice to help families who are coping with the loss of a loved one, whereby New Hope counselors provide children with information, resources, personal correspondence, workshops, summer day camps, and support groups. These components of New Hope help children express their feelings and thoughts, learn from their grief, and find life from their loss—to find New Hope.
