Jo Schmeiser, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford, presented a check for $3,000 to Dr. Margery White, Vice President and C.O.O. of Delaware Hospice, today at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

The donation represents a portion of the proceeds from the Chamber’s annual fundraiser, “2008 Holiday Auction & Tastes of Milford.” The event was held on November 20th at the Milford Senior Center, where 450 guests sampled specialties of local chefs and bid on a wonderful collection of auction items donated by CCGM members.

Jo said, “The decision to benefit Delaware Hospice with this year’s proceeds was unanimous by the 2008 planning committee. Delaware Hospice provides care that touches so many lives in our community.”

Dr. White expressed her appreciation on behalf of everyone at Delaware Hospice. “Your generous support will have a positive impact on the programs and services that we provide to patients and families.”

Special thanks to the event sponsors, including Platinum Sponsor, Del-One; Gold Sponsor, The Milford Beacon; Silver Sponsors, Gooden’s Floral Shop, Mark Schanne of State Farm Insurance, Sunnybrae Mansion, and HearSay Services of Delaware, Inc.; Marketing Sponsors, Delmarva Broadcasting Company, The Milford Beacon, The Milford Chronicle, and Comcast.
