Anyone living with heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and other chronic diseases will benefit from a six-month course on self management of chronic disease, which will be sponsored by the Hope Keepers and held at the Calvary Assembly of God, 1141 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901.
Barbara Tucker, Community Ed Coordinator for Delaware Hospice, will conduct the course, entitled “Living Well,” which will meet once a month on the second Tuesday, starting May 12 and running through October.
This totally interactive class, created by Stanford University, will help participants learn how to deal with topics such as fatigue, depression, medications, problem solving, nutrition, and physical activity. You will learn how to make action plans, how to talk to your healthcare provider as well as how to better communicate with your own family members.
There is no fee for this course which is offered free of charge as a community outreach of Delaware Hospice.
