Six week course on self-management of chronic disease will be held beginning May 6 at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth.

Anyone living with heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and other chronic diseases will benefit from a six-week course on self management of chronic disease, beginning May 6th, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Rd., Rehoboth.

Barbara Tucker, Community Ed Coordinator for Delaware Hospice, will conduct the course, entitled “Living Well,” which will meet on Wednesday, May 6th, and every Wednesday through June 10th, from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. All six classes are recommended.

This totally interactive class, created by Stanford University, will help participants learn how to deal with topics such as fatigue, depression, medications, problem solving, nutrition, and physical activity. You will learn how to make action plans, how to talk to your healthcare provider as well as how to better communicate with your own family members.

There is no fee for this course which is offered free of charge as a community outreach of Delaware Hospice.
