Volunteer for Delaware Hospice’s Camp New Hope for a rewarding and life-enriching experience.

PRESS RELEASE: May 4, 2009 For Immediate Release

Delaware Hospice’s nationally recognized New Hope Program offers bereavement support for children and teens who have lost a loved one.

A unique feature of the New Hope Program is its summer day camp, where participants spend four days together enjoying traditional camp activities as well as specially designed projects focused on coping with loss.

Children find Camp New Hope a safe environment to express their emotions and share their personal stories. The consequential transformation they undergo in four short days is magical and inspirational.

Delaware Hospice offers Camp New Hopeto the community as a free program, which is made possible through fundraising and the dedicated volunteers who participate.

Volunteers attend a comprehensive training session and help out in a variety of ways. They might become a camper’s buddy, help out in the kitchen, or assist with arts and crafts or other activities. Volunteers should be available for all four days of camp.

Camp New Hopeis organized in all three counties throughout the summer. Sussex County’s Camp New Hope will be held from Tuesday to Friday, July 14 – July 17, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford.

To volunteer for this rewarding and life-enriching experience or to donate materials and art supplies, call Sussex County’s New HopeCoordinator, Lezley Sexton, at: 302-856-7717, x3104. Volunteer registration deadline is May 21st; volunteer training will be held on May 28th.
