“If I had known all that Delaware Hospice could help our family with, I would have called sooner.”
~ M. Bradley
Hospice care involves a team-oriented approach to quality medical care, pain and symptom management, as well as emotional and spiritual support tailored to meet the patient’s and the family’s needs. A patient can receive hospice care when the goal of their care shifts from cure to care and comfort, and the patient chooses attention to symptom management and comfort rather than further treatment.
A patient is eligible for hospice care when the prognosis is measured in months rather than years. The patient and physician must agree with the hospice philosophy. Delaware Hospice services are available in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties in Delaware, Southern Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania. Eligible patients must live in our service area.
Families are never billed for services. The needs of our community come first. As the only nonprofit hospice in Delaware, we focus on patients, not profits. Our costs are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or contributions given by the community. We accept patients regardless of their ability to pay. No one is ever denied care based on ethnicity, age, sex, mental or physical status, or religion.
