Delaware Hospice, Inc. Earns Top Level of NHPCO Quality Connections Program

Newark, Del.- Delaware Hospice, Inc. earned all four rings in the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) Quality Connections program. Among 12 hospices in the Nation to earn all four rings in this program, Delaware Hospice is the only healthcare organization in Delaware to earn such a distinction.

Launched in January 2021, Quality Connections is structured around four pillars which are represented by four rings: Education, Application, Measurement, and Innovation. Through its commitment to high quality care and services, and the skills and contributions of its staff, Delaware Hospice completed the activities of each ring in one calendar year. Each pillar includes four activities that track and improve both clinical, and organizational quality.

“To simply say that a hospice organization is interested in quality is not enough. A hospice must demonstrate its commitment to patient- and family-centered care with measurable results and outcomes. One of the most effective ways to do this is through active participation in NHPCO’s Quality Connections,” said NHPCO President and CEO Edo Banach.

“Delaware Hospice’s number one priority is providing high quality care, and services to our patients, families, and community in Delaware, and the southern counties of Pennsylvania. As the only organization in Delaware to earn such an achievement, it speaks highly of the skills and dedication of our staff,” said Susan Lloyd, MSN, RN, President and CEO, Delaware Hospice.
