June 3 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Estimates suggest that 18 million people struggle with compulsive shopping. Shopping can be used to numb painful emotions, fill an internal void, or cope with stress. Often it feels driven by unknown forces. If you buy even when you have a closet full of unopened items or are deeply in debt, or because it relieves anxiety or gives you a high, you are not alone. You pay a high price for this behavior, beyond what’s on the tag. Among compulsive buyers: 58% have large debts; 42% can’t make their payments; 45% feel guilty, and 33% get criticized by family and friends. There are programs and strategies for changing your behavior. Tune in to learn what causes this syndrome and how to take back control of your life. To register, email schandler@delawarehospice.org
